mindfulness-for-kids-4

The purpose of the activity is to practice being mindful of our breathing.

It is important to connect children to their breathing.

Breathing is an automatic action our bodies do, and when we pay attention to it, it can calm us and activate the calming system in our bodies.

Being mindful to our breathing enables us to stop, so we don’t do things we regret when we experience difficult situations.

Our breathing can also teach us a lot about our mental state.

Make a paper boat

Ask the child to lie on his back in a nice, comfortable place.

You can ask the child: “what do you notice when you are breathing?”

You can ask him to take a deep breath and see what happens to the boat on the tummy.
